What should I wear?

We pretty much run the gamut at Living Spring. You'll feel accepted in shorts or a suit and tie. Most dress pretty casual, however. Nobody ever looks out of place here.

What about my kids?

We provide a fun, hands-on, Scripture-based children's experience on Sunday mornings in a safe and clean environment. We currently accommodate infants through 5th grade students in the Children's Wing near the playground. Our teachers would love to meet your family and direct you to the appropriate classrooms for your kids. Or if you prefer, you can keep the kiddos with you during the service. Our Jr. High & High School guests are currently included in the main worship service with the adults. Check out our Children's Ministry & Youth Ministry pages for more info on the kids programs we offer.

How long is the service?

We begin Sunday service at 10:15am and end around 11:30am.

What denomination is Living Spring?

Living Spring is Free Methodist by denomination, and a part of the Free Methodist Church of Southern California. How does this shape how we do church?

What is Free Methodism?

Free Methodism is a Christ-following denomination committed to upholding the practices and principles found in the Bible. At the core of Free Methodism's unique qualities is: 1) it's focus on basic freedoms found in the Bible such as human freedom (no man should own another man), free seats in church (so the poor will not be discriminated against), freedom from materialism (in order to help the poor), and freedom & simplicity in worship; and 2) its "methodist" approach to life which emphasizes simplicity and discipline. Free Methodists are diverse, family-oriented, and worldwide.

Our denomination has a very rich history; if you'd like to read more on how we got started and what we're all about, visit the Free Methodist Church online.

What's the music like?

Our tastes in music are pretty diverse among our members, and we try to connect with that diversity through our worship style. You'll hear songs that are currently popular in worship music (think Hillsong United, Chris Tomlin, etc.) as well as hymns and old standards. We welcome all postures of worship expression and encourage you to worship in the way that allows you to connect with God the best.

What's the teaching like?

Each week’s message is taught by our Senior Pastor, John Rittenhouse. He has an easy-to-follow, light-hearted teaching style, with practical take-aways that will help deepen your walk with Jesus in everyday situations.

Who is the Pastor?

John Rittenhouse has been pastoring Living Spring since 2006. He and his wife Lisa have been married for over 20 years and currently live with their dog Atticus down the road in Cypress. They have 2 daughters and 1 son; Audrey teaches high school Biology and lives with her husband Jack in Santa Barbara, Emily is recently married and living in Arizona, and Jesse is attending Grand Canyon University. John's into sports, loves sushi, plays the guitar, and is currently learning Spanish.

What do you believe?

Here's a quick rundown: Salvation only comes through Jesus; the Trinity is real and true; the Bible was God-breathed, written by men, and still applicable to our lives today; baptism is a commandment; so is giving; all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved; spiritual gifts are real and useful when appropriate; the devil is real too; we were created in the image of God to worship and serve Him, and our life's greatest joy comes when we are living out that purpose. Want to know more? Send us a quick email or Facebook message with your question and we'll get back to you asap.

Do you offer mid-week services?

Unfortunately, we don't meet mid-week at this time.

Do you offer bilingual services?

We do not offer any bilingual services during our Sunday experience, but we do encourage you to check out our sister church, Igelsia Transformando Vidas for services in Spanish. They offer a Sunday afternoon and Thursday night service in both Spanish & English; plus they meet right in our LS building! Visit them online for more info at: iglesiatransformandovidas.org
