Hey thanks for visiting my blog. Often times when I am preparing a sermon an idea comes to me that I want to unpack a little more. Hopefully, this blog will allow me the place to do that. Then again, maybe I’ll just talk about my kids. I’ll try to update it once a month..
My wife talks more than I do. It’s a fact. And before you think I am being chauvinistic, she agrees with me and celebrates that fact. So, you can imagine how relieved I was when I read in Matthew 12 that Jesus says, “But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.” If women speak more words, they have a statistically greater chance of getting judged by God. This means that God will be a little sidetracked trying to figure out what in the world they are saying while we can sit back and relax. This is fantastic men! This means that for once we get a break from scripture. God knows we work hard. He knows that sometimes things slip. After all, we’re men. Jesus was a man. I’m sure he hit his thumb with a hammer when he was in construction. Then I re-read the passage. It clearly states that “MEN will have to give account.” What? It doesn’t say anything about women. They get a free pass? They get all those extra words and don’t have to worry about a thing? That’s not fair! Join us this weekend as we work out all this discrimination.
